"Bucket list" - husky sled day tour

We agree - a husky tour is an absolute must for visitors to Kiruna and one of the most genuine actvities to do "up here". To just try it we recommend this day tour! You can choose between driving an own dog team of 4 Alaskan Huskies or sitting comfortable on the guide's sled and enjoing the landscape . Driving on a dogsled through the snowcovered forest and over frozen lakes and rivers is an unique way of experiencing Lapland´s nature during winter time! Feel the huskies' excitement before the start and enjoy the sudden silence once the teams are moving.

At 10.00 am. we pick you up at your hotel in Kiruna and bring you to the sled dog camp. The transfer takes 15 - 20 minutes. At the kennel we provide some extra winter clothing (overall, hat, mittens, winter boots) and after getting instructions in how to drive your own team of dogs the tour starts.

Halfway along the trail we will take a break at a rustic wilderness hut, where your guide will prepare lunch for you. The tour ends back at the base camp and you have the opportunity to look around the site and get to know interesting facts about sled dogs and how it is to live and work with these exceptional animals. The tour ends at approx. 15.00 pm. and we will take you back to Kiruna.
